Contact data is retained for as long as strictly necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Purchase data is retained for 10 years as required by Italian tax legislation. Data for marketing purposes is retained until consent is withdrawn.
Data may be processed by external providers acting as data processors (Art. 28 GDPR), for technical purposes such as hosting, sending email, handling payments and bookings. All providers are bound by GDPR-compliant data processing agreements. If you give consent to marketing cookies, some browsing data is also shared with Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (Meta Pixel) for statistical and advertising purposes. Your data is never sold to third parties under any circumstances.
Some providers are based outside the European Economic Area. Transfers take place in compliance with the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or on the basis of adequacy decisions, guaranteeing a level of protection equivalent to the European one.
Sabaai is the conversational assistant behind "Bangkok in your pocket". When you write to it, in order to improve the answers and keep the service running we log some information about each exchange.
What we log, for each message:
What we do NOT log: we do not save your IP address, nor information about the device or browser you use for these conversations.
Your email address. If you have an account or a subscription, your email is associated with the conversations, because the service is tied to your profile. If you try Sabaai without an account, your first messages are not linked to an email; to continue beyond a short trial we ask you to leave your email, and from that point on the subsequent conversations are associated with it.
How long we keep conversations. Conversations with Sabaai (questions, answers and associated technical data) are kept for a maximum of 21 days, after which they are automatically deleted. This term concerns the conversations: the data of your account and of any subscription (such as the registration email) follow different rules, described in the relevant sections of this policy, because they are needed to run the service you signed up for.
Where they are stored and which providers process them. To make the assistant work, the text of your conversations is processed by some third-party providers, each for a specific function:
Payments and the sending of emails are handled by separate providers (described in the relevant sections of this policy) that do not process the content of the conversations.
Your rights. You can ask us at any time to access the data concerning you, to correct it or to delete it, by writing to bisca@biscalab.com. Since conversations delete themselves within 21 days, most of this data is short-lived in any case.
At any time you can exercise the rights provided for by Articles 15–22 of the GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent. To exercise them, write to bisca@biscalab.com. Once I receive the request, I reply within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali, garanteprivacy.it).
